Privacy Policy
Higher mobile application
Last updated:
This privacy policy explains how the Higher app (“Higher”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal data. Higher is the mobile application for the Master Talent recruitment platform (www.master-talent.fr). It is intended for job candidates and recruiters.
This policy applies only to Higher on Android and iOS and to the account and recruitment data the app sends to our servers. It does not cover third-party websites you open from a link inside the app.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the operator of Higher and the Master Talent platform.
- Privacy contact: contact@master-talent.fr
- Website: https://www.master-talent.fr
- App data is processed through our API at mastertalent.apeiron-tech.com
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can contact us at the email above to exercise your privacy rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In France, that authority is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
2. Who this app is for
Higher is a professional recruitment product. It is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Data we collect
We collect the data you give us, data created when you use the app, and a limited amount of technical data needed to run the service.
- Account data
- Email address, password (stored by our authentication service, not in plain text in the app), one-time verification codes, account role (candidate or recruiter), and login identifier. You provide this when you register, sign in, or reset a password.
- Google account data
- Name, email address, and a Google sign-in token, if you choose “Sign in with Google”. Google provides this with your permission.
- Candidate profile
- Full name, profile title, description, phone number, address, date of birth, country of birth, profile photo, education, work experience, skills, professional aspirations, and values. You provide this.
- Application files
- CV or résumé (PDF), cover or motivation letters, audio presentations, and motivation or introduction videos. These are files you choose from your device.
- Recruitment activity
- Job searches and matches, saved jobs, applications, application status, interview dates you select, alerts about application updates, and AI match or analysis results. This comes from your use of the app and our matching service.
- Recruiter and company data
- Recruiter name, professional email, professional phone number, company name, website, industry, company size, company logo, company values, and job-offer content such as title, location, and salary range. The recruiter provides this.
- Subscription status
- The pack or plan associated with an account (for example, a free plan). The app does not collect payment card numbers. This is stored when you select a plan.
- Device and notification data
- A Firebase Cloud Messaging token (a device identifier used only to deliver notifications), notification permission status, and notification content such as job title and application status. Your device and Firebase Cloud Messaging provide this after you allow notifications.
- Data stored on the device
- Session token, onboarding and tutorial flags, draft job offers, and in-app alert history. The app stores this locally on your device.
We do not ask for your contacts, precise GPS location, advertising identifier, SMS, or call log. Job location and address are text you or a recruiter type in. Calendar access is used only when you add an interview to your calendar.
4. Sensitive and user-provided content
Some of this data can reveal details about your private or professional life. In particular:
- Date of birth, country of birth, address, and phone number are personal data you may add to a candidate profile.
- A CV, work history, education, photo, audio recording, or video can contain information you choose to include, such as employment history or an image of you.
- Calendar access can see or add events only for the interview you choose to save. We do not upload your calendar to our servers.
Provide only what you are comfortable sharing with recruiters and with us. You can decline optional permissions (photos, files, notifications, calendar). Some features will not work without them: for example, you cannot upload a CV without file access, and you will not receive push alerts if you decline notifications.
5. How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Create and secure your account, including email verification codes and password reset
- Let candidates build a profile and apply to jobs
- Let recruiters create a company profile, publish offers, and review applications
- Match candidates with job offers and show match scores and recommendations
- Run the AI features you start, such as profile analysis and analysis of a motivation letter, audio presentation, or video you upload
- Send service notifications about application status and similar account activity
- Save drafts and preferences on your device so the app can resume where you left off
- Provide the subscription plan linked to your account
- Detect abuse, keep the service secure, and comply with law
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and the app does not include an advertising SDK.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of the contract (providing the recruitment account you requested); legitimate interests (securing the service, improving matching, and sending service messages that are part of the product); consent (optional permissions such as notifications, photos, files, and calendar, and optional Google sign-in); and legal obligation when the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
7. AI features
If you upload a CV, motivation letter, audio file, or video, or if you start an automatic profile analysis, we send that content to our servers to produce suggestions, scores, or interview-preparation feedback. Those results are shown to you and, when they are part of an application, may be available to the recruiter reviewing that application.
Do not upload a recording or document that includes someone else’s personal data unless you have a right to share it.
8. Permissions
- Notifications. Used to tell you about application status and similar service events. You can turn them off in system settings.
- Photos and files. Used when you pick a profile photo, company logo, CV, letter, audio file, or video. We receive only the file you select.
- Calendar. Used so you can add an interview date to your calendar. This stays on your device.
- Internet. Required to reach our API, Firebase, and shared links.
9. How long we keep data
We keep account, profile, company, and application data for as long as your account is active and the recruitment record is needed to provide the service. Local data on your phone remains until you sign out, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Push tokens are replaced when the token refreshes and are removed when they are no longer needed to reach your device.
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data unless we must keep a limited record to meet a legal duty, resolve a dispute, or enforce our terms. Backup copies are removed on the backup cycle.
10. Security
The app talks to our API over HTTPS. Access to your account is protected by your password, a one-time code, or Google sign-in. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Use a unique password and do not share verification codes.
11. International transfers
We are established in connection with the Master Talent service aimed at users in France and elsewhere. Our infrastructure and Google Firebase may process data in the European Economic Area and in other countries, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
12. Your rights and account deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update much of your profile inside the app.
To delete your account, or to make any other privacy request, email contact@master-talent.fr from the address on your account. We will verify the request and respond within the time required by law. Deleting an account removes your login and the profile data tied to it, subject to the retention limits in section 9.
You can also control device permissions and notifications in your phone settings.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change. The “last updated” date at the top will change. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide a notice in the app or by email.
14. Contact
Questions about this policy or your personal data: contact@master-talent.fr.
